Rock band Black Veil Brides has graced the music community with the release of their first new single since 2024. The single, "Hallelujah," was released alongside an accompanying music video. The single also features the Tampa, Florida-based choir, One Voice Ensemble. Lead vocalist Andy Biersack explains,

"'Hallelujah' is an important song for us, not only because it is the first track from the new record, but also as a signifier of what's to come for the band. On a narrative level, it represents the themes and ideas I am exploring lyrically on the album. Over the years, we have developed a tremendous connection with our audience, which is often dismissed or misinterpreted by the 'scene.' We stand at a unique inflection point culturally and I want to be able to speak openly about how much I believe in being true to yourself over the fear of mass hysteria or in-group recriminations."

The new single perfectly represents the growth that the band has seen over the years. While it is easily one of the hardest songs they have released, Andy's raspy vocals bring a comfortable familiarity to the track. While he has always been able to smoothly transition between vocals and screams, the screams in this song feel like those of a veteran artist.

The strong instrumentals add to the chaos while also helping to drive the song forward. Overall, the undertones remain comparable to the band's previous work.

Like many Black Veil Brides songs, the lyrics are the strongest aspect. If there was ever room for uncertainty about the theme of the track, the lines "They worship the screen // the digital shrine // Demanding purity while rotting inside // But I know, the saints are all sinners with halos for show, // the sins are forgotten the moment you let go" clear it up. These lyrics are a great representation of the state of the rock music scene. The other simple, yet stand-out line in the song is "I was the outcast, the ghost of my muse."

The animated, black and white music video that was released alongside the track is the perfect visual story. The dark, rich visuals add to the depth of the music.
