Circa Waves and Friday Pilots Club end their co-headliner tour with an epic night in Los Angeles.

An indie rock band, Circa Waves, formed in Liverpool, gained their recognition in the mid 2010's with their songs "Fire That Burns" and "T-Shirt Weather". Earlier this year they released their brand new album, Death and Love Pt.1, a slight shift to a more vulnerable and melodic sound, while still delivering their upbeat and energetic tunes. And bring the energy they did!

The Liverpuldians made sure the fans were having a good time, singing along to their favorite tracks and keeping the party energy going throughout the whole set. In a typical British manner, the band wasn't the most talkative in between songs, yet the audience still felt connected and engaged, going especially crazy for the signature guitar riffs.

At one point of the night, a fan shouted out that he drove twelve hours just to see the show, to which Kieran (the lead vocalist) responded, "That's sick! But thank you very much.".

For the last song of the set, the singer encouraged the audience to join in chanting the lyrics: "It's going to be OK!", and with each time the voices were growing louder and more convinced that indeed, everything is going to be ok!

Friday Pilots Club took the stage next and somehow the energy reached an even higher point with the crowd jumping, screaming, dancing and fully giving it their all! The night also marked a one year anniversary of the release of their debut full-length album Nowhere, a milestone that, as noted by the lead guitarist, was a pivotal moment in their careers. He also opened up about a long and obstacle filled road that led them back to El Rey, a venue they hadn’t played in six years. With gratitude, he thanked Los Angeles, a city, as he put it: “that gave a lot to us by taking a lot as well” and expressed heartfelt appreciation to the fans whose support helped carry them through the years.

Their lead vocalist Caleb is a natural on stage— his charisma and energy are undeniable and shine through even in the dimmest lighting. His voice possesses impressive versatility, flawlessly switching between honey smooth falsettos to powerful bassy notes.

Pilots played songs from their new album but didn't leave their older EP's behind, guaranteeing that everyone in the audience received what they came for. The obvious bond between the band members was a beautiful sight, which not only elevates their performance but also makes the connection with the fans more genuine.

The tour might be over, but the night was an excellent way to welcome summer and showed that the fun doesn't have to end just yet!
