ERRA, Currents, Caskets, and Aviana Take Dallas

A lineup featuring Aviana, Caskets, Currents, and ERRA? I wouldn’t have missed this show for the world. This bill brought together some of my top favorite bands in metalcore — each delivering their own mix of intensity, melody, and perfect riffs for headbanging moments. It was an absolute joy to cover a lineup like this at the Dallas House of Blues. I will say, this is likely going to be my shortest article yet — and honestly that says everything. As a genuine fan of each of these bands, I spent less time writing notes and taking pictures and more time completely immersed in the show. I feel like that’s exactly how this tour deserved to be experienced. Hopefully the pictures speak louder than my words – because quite honestly, this show left me completely speechless.

Aviana, a Swedish metalcore band, was up first, and they bring the fucking heat. I’ve photographed them before and also had the pleasure of interviewing them, and let me tell you these are some great dudes. Joel dominates on the microphone while Fear, Death, and Dark entertain on drums and guitar. My absolute favorite is Death and Fear spinning and doing backbends in front of the crowd — all while delivering crushing riffs.

I was so pumped to hear Father again live – but all of their songs are amazing. It was a challenge to photograph the first three songs in the photo pit while singing and head banging, but I managed.

Caskets, a British post-hardcore band, was on my list of must-see bands. I wasn’t about to miss the chance to see them for the first time while they’re here in the states. Matt Flood is a great frontman and vocalist; he did a good job of pumping up the crowd. Witnessing the crowd sing along to tracks from their new album, “The Only Heaven You’ll Know," was such a neat experience. This tour is over today, but Caskets will be touring the U.S. again with Memphis May Fire and other supporting bands this summer, so I highly recommend seeing them if they have a tour stop near you. Unfortunately they won’t hit Dallas, TX, so I’ll be living vicariously through you.

Check out their newest album here.

Currents is easily one of my favorite bands, and their music always hits so hard. I can’t think of a better band to coheadline The Silence Follows Tour with ERRA.

When I say they always hit so hard – I mean it. You can feel the music and vocals through your entire body — especially Chris Pulgarin’s deep bass and Chris Wiseman on lead guitar.

Vocalist Brian Wille effortlessly shifted between melodic and harder vocals throughout their 15-track setlist.

Their most recent single, “It Only Gets Darker," has been playing frequently in my home since its release in 2025, and it was a perfect banger for them to end their set with. Some other favorites were: “So Alone,” which was their opening song — immediately coming in with heat and a shredding guitar solo; “Can’t Turn Back” starts up quickly with those hard vocals and guttural grunts. It’s a track that feels so aggressive and cathartic — a great song to let loose in the pit and two-step to, “Rise & Fall," which had the circle pit raging in the best way.

I will never pass up an opportunity to see Currents live.

Next up was ERRA, and it was my first time seeing them live. As interactive as the pit and crowd were before, they took it up another level. The show was completely sold out, and it was nearly impossible to move through the venue — it was packed to the wall. I caught so many great fan moments, from arms raised and lyrics screamed back to the band on stage to the pit going nonstop.

Their setlist leaned heavily into their new album, "Silence Outlives the Earth,” while still including older fan favorites. The lighting and stage production elevated the entire experience. J.T. Cavey gave a phenomenal performance — he's a great frontman, engaging yet humble. Jesse Cash ripped on guitar, with Conor Hesse on bass and Alex Ballew on drums. It was a powerhouse set with some favorite tracks: “Snowblood,” “Cicada Siren,” “Drift,” and “i. The many names of god.” As the photos show, fans were completely engaged throughout the performance. Today marks the end of the tour, but it's definitely not too late to give Aviana, Caskets, Currents, and ERRA a listen.
