There’s something truly magical about that one single a band releases that happens to come along with the announcement of an entire new album. A new song is one thing, but records are the promise of many songs, which is particularly exciting when you’ve already had another taste of whats to come.

After kicking the summer off with the (rather controversial) “ON YOUR LIPS”, BEAUTY SCHOOL DROPOUT graced us with another peek into the tracklist for their upcoming album Where Did All The Butterflies Go?, slated to hit streaming platforms September 5th.

Their newest single, “FEVER”, is a world apart. It is a beautiful showcase of just how versatile the band is as a whole. While “ON YOUR LIPS” hits listeners with something more electronic, “FEVER” starts with a drum beat that is reminiscent of the 80’s, right down to the vocal echo effects and the guitar tones.

What both songs have, though, is an undeniable melody hook. The sort of thing that pulls you in and captivates you for the entirety of the track. “FEVER” brings a flair that is a perfect blench of classic 80’s rock combined with contemporary pop. The overall of the instrumentals is exposed brick painted vibrant orange, with vocals the shade of an electric teal, and a chorus that flashes with the blinding white of a strobe light.

Arguably, one of the most fun parts of the song is the use of repetitive lyricism. It makes the entire thing easy to learn, and quick. After one play-through, by the end of the track, a listener is able to sing along to the entire last chorus, which is something a lot of songs can’t necessarily say, and something that makes a large impact when experiencing the song.

Say it back
Say it back
all I see is
you and me
You and me
Say it back
Say it back
all I see is you and me
Ecstasy
I got the fever
I got the fever
In my heart
In my soul
Make me believe you
In my heart
In my soul
I got the fever

Having just played Vans Warped Tour this weekend, BEAUTY SCHOOL DROPOUTS is set to begin another tour on July 11th, this time with the Summer School Tour along with a stellar lineup consisting of Taylor Acorn, Rain City Drive, Charlotte Sands, If Not For Me, and Arrows In Action (with Huddy as a special guest!) spanning 23 dates.
