• Because we are independent and generate no income, all opportunities are currently unpaid and volunteer-based.
• You must be at least 18 years old to apply. All locations are welcome, and we cover an expansive variety of genres. Our favorites are rock, metal, pop punk, indie, alt, rap, and country.
• We communicate through Discord, which is required. Active participation and engagement in our team chat is a key part of the MSM experience. If you aren't familiar with Discord and would like a little walkthrough, just ask!
• We ask that you contribute at least one article a month, or please communicate ahead of time if you can't for some reason.
• Our journalists focus on song/album reviews, editorials, and interviews. Our photography team handles live event coverage, providing both the visual and written narrative for the show.
• All photographers must provide a written review for every show or festival that we cover, in addition to photos. A professional DSLR or mirrorless camera is required.
• Show coverage is due within 48–72 hours of the event. Festival deadlines vary based on the festival's length.
• All photographers must do a couple small or local shows with us before applying to larger shows on behalf of MSM.
• No AI-generated content will be accepted and will result in an immediate dismissal.
