Gigi Perez, an artist hailing from West Palm Beach, took the world by storm early on in her career. She first started out writing at age 15, eventually gained viral-ity on the platform TikTok, like many artists of our time, and has continued gaining momentum throughout the years.

Opening for Gigi this leg is indie-pop artist Hannah Jadagu. Much like the music we know and love from the headliner, Hannah's personal writing style also dives into deep self reflection and identity. Immediately able to command the crowd and create lasting impressions on the audience, Hannah is just at the start of an incredible and impactful career. A colorful vibe and even sweeter identity, Hannah was just as basking with joy as her family members that joined her in the crowd this stop.
Gaining her own momentum, she'll be following this tour with an early 2026 run with Del Water Gap and an album release on the 24th of October. She's creating a bedroom-pop train that I surely have hopped on, and I urge you to as well.

Following Hannah's electric set, the long-awaited Gigi Perez took the stage. Immediately creating a connection with the crowd, she dove into her long list of hits. There's no telling the emotion you will feel during a Perez show, especially because of how deeply-rooted her music is in personal experiences.
Specifically, her multitude of songs dedicated or in reference to her late sister, Celeste. "Fable", her most popular song of this night, was actually the third song of her set. For non-concert photographers, that means I was still shooting in the photo pit during. As someone who also lost a sibling at a formative age, it was an incredibly refreshing moment and commendable to hear her life being uplifted and remembered in such an impactful way. Reasons like these are why Perez has created a lasting and emotionally connected fanbase. Through her writing, she expresses topics of grief, identity, and self-reflection of every kind. Throwing this into a live setting makes it even stronger.
The best description of her show would be: warm, inviting, and connecting. Through her original songs and even a Lana Del Ray cover (which obviously had the crowd reeling), she was able to keep up the energy the entirety of the night. Gigi worked in tandem with her backing band, and the crowd itself. This made the show overall feel like a shared experience, as opposed to just a performance. This is especially true when she connected physically by stepping down to crowd level.
Gigi's raw talent and emotional lyricism isn't just the only impactful thing about her, she has stayed true to herself throughout the changes of her career and continues to connect with fans during, and after the shows end. Her busy and long-awaited tour that included many stops on the "Unreal Unearth" tour with fellow artist Hozier (I will be forever jealous for those that had the pleasure of seeing this duo,) will finally come to a close on October 21st at The Wiltern.
If you didn't have the chance to catch her this run, I highly recommend you keep an eye out for her upcoming one-off's and festivals for this year- you surely won't regret it.
