Mark Ambor’s So Good to be Alive 2024 North American Tour, with special guests Dorsten and Andrea Bejar, stopped at the Mercury Lounge in New York City for two nights. I was able to catch them on February 25th - the second of the two performances. The Mercury Lounge, an iconic smaller venue, was the perfect intimate setting for the evening, with its fun vibe and fantastic acoustics. If you haven’t been to this venue yet, check it out next time you are on the Lower East Side - or stop by after grabbing a bite at Katz's Deli a block away.

The pairing of performances was spot on. Each artist brought their own unique sound to the stage and created a truly enjoyable experience for the crowd. Everyone seemed to have a great night and fully embraced each band.

Dorsten was the first to go on stage. This folk-rock / Americana style musical duo is a brother-sister band hailing from Phoenix, AZ area. Their performance was phenomenal and very fun. Sophie Dorsten sang her mesmerizing vocals alongside her guitar with Alex Dorsten accompanying on guitar as well as an assortment of
percussion sounds making for an impressive experience for the eyes and ears. The talented duo got the crowd energized; everyone was singing and swaying along to the music. Some of the songs they performed included their newest release "Losing It" and the forthcoming single "To The River."

Next on stage was Andrea Bejar, a Mexican pop artist from Mexico City. The singer showed off her beautiful vocals alongside guitarist Dylan Thom. Bejar performed her own thought-provoking original songs as well as an amazing cover of The Plain White T's song "Hey There Delilah," which was in particular a crowd pleaser.

Indie-pop artist Mark Ambor headlined the evening. A wave of love and positive
energy enveloped the room the moment he stepped into sight. The crowd welcomed him to the stage with open arms and enthusiasm. Strangers
became instant friends, and the room transformed into a big party. Huge smiles, singing voices, and joyful dancing made for a beautiful experience for all. The New York based singer/songwriter performed most of the night with his band as well as a few songs solo on a piano beautifully decked out with fresh flowers and covered in signatures. Songs of the songs he performed included "Good To Be," "Belong Together," and "I Hope It All Works Out." Ambor and his band also went into
the middle of the room for part of the set and had the crowd dancing and singing along to covers of "Watermelon Sugar" by Harry Styles and "Party in the U.S.A." by Miley Cyrus. It was such a fun night and the perfect homecoming for Ambor!
