You know Music Scene Media loves OK Go when this is our second time reviewing their live show, this time in Chicago! There is nothing quite like an OK Go show that takes place in the city where the band was born nearly 30 years ago.

Joining OK Go at their Chicago show was San Francisco's The Stone Foxes, an easy-listening rock 'n' roll group who put their very best talents on display. The quintet, all talented vocalists and instrumentalists, played through jams like "Time Is A Killer" and "Shake Like Buddy Holly" as they gained momentum through their set.
Contrary to typical show expectations, The Stone Foxes only exuded more and more energy as their set went on. The crowd, already delighted by the sunny and warm gusty weather Chicago brought for this outdoor show, danced along with ease. The Stone Foxes make the perfect music for a warm summer day, most definitely captured by their Chicago debut of an unreleased track that played perfectly, like a classic Uncle Kracker tune. I must explicitly shout out their band's harmonica wizard, Shannon, for the infectious energy his incredible piping brought to the crowd. Their delightful blend of classic rock 'n' roll and more modern rock had Chicago perfectly primed and ready for OK Go's set.

Fans adorned in OK Go merch, including incredible "I made the OK Go video" shirts, held the barricade eagerly as they watched the stage transform for the headline performance. Confetti cannons were loaded with a rainbow of colors, children giddily prepared their signs in perfect sign-holding form for the band to see, and the audience buzzed with anticipation.

OK Go.
Without a moment's notice, OK Go blasted onto stage with energy that is only described by the word "explosive"—pun intended. A showering of orange confetti quickly welcomed the 4-piece band to the stage, perfectly setting the tone for the rest of the evening (wherein confetti cannons would go off approximately every other song—a tour staff member jested that staff was told to prepare for extensive cleanup after the show)!
The band not only opened with 2010 hit "This Too Shall Pass," but also with extreme theatrics and crowd engagement that defined the entire show. OK Go frontman Damian Kulash leapt from the stage in a display that likely worried security greatly, and quickly found himself swarmed in a sea of giddy show-goers. The photographers in the pit nearly suffered whiplash trying to keep up with Kulash's incredible showmanship. The crowd, as pictured below, was ecstatic as a result of his audience visit.

Everything about the evening was lovely. The audience was so polite and adoring, the venue was arguably the perfect place to soak in an OK Go show, and the set list was a thoughtfully curated journey through the band's discography (including 6 tracks from their newest release, And the Adjacent Possible). Chicago even got to hear a snippet of an unreleased track after a fan question prompted a demo of "It's Tough To Have A Crush" by Kulash. The song, written in Chicago for a friend struggling with an unrequited crush, had everyone feeling spirited after being let in on an OK Go secret.

They somehow managed, as did The Stone Foxes, to not just maintain but build their energy throughout the evening. Similarly to my editor-in-chief, Mel, who previous reviewed OK Go's incredible performance in Raleigh, I left the show covered in confetti with a heart full of happiness.
OK Go has a few more shows planned for 2026, and it would be wrong of me to not encourage you to check one out. If you've ever wanted to live the main character life as if you were in an OK Go music video, this is your chance to party like a rockstar.
