The spotlight (or sunlight) on New England's summer music scene shines squarely this year on Levitate Music & Arts Festival. Set for July 18 and 19 at the Marshfield Fairgrounds, Levitate has evolved from a local surf-inspired gathering into one of New England’s premier music festivals, drawing fans from across the Northeast for a weekend blending major acts with the laid-back spirit of Massachusetts's South Shore. If you're looking to catch a break from the brouhaha of the World Cup, Levitate Music & Arts Festival is your oasis.

In a year without Boston Calling, Levitate finds itself as arguably the biggest music festival in New England and one of the defining live music events of the summer. If the past few years are any indication, thousands will make the trip to Marshfield for what promises to be another unforgettable weekend of great music and even better vibes.

This year's lineup is stacked, featuring Alanis Morissette, Caamp, Ziggy Marley, Royel Otis, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Sammy Rae & The Friends, The Elovaters, and dozens of exciting local acts across multiple stages. Since its inception, the appeal of Levitate has been about more than amazing music. Live art, local vendors, food trucks, and a strong sense of community have helped turn the festival into a summer destination rather than simply another stop on the concert calendar.
