This spring has been a wild ride for music lovers of all genres. It seems like it has been single after single after tour announcement after album announcement- all one right after the other, leaving listeners everywhere with no room to breathe in between. I for one, wouldn’t have it any other way.
Tonight, fans of Pierce the Veil have been delighted to be within the newest wave of “victims”.
With their ‘I Can’t Hear You tour’ set to start in just one week (May the 13th in Charlotte, North Carolina), “Kiss Me Now” has hit streaming services and left us all spellbound.
In swirling blues and whites, listeners are taken through chattering halls into the first verse.
Kiss me now or never
‘Cause moments fade away
And nothing lasts forever
It’s not too late, it’s not too late
The song itself gives such an intense feeling of nostalgia that's hard to put words to. There's not so much a concrete comparison that can be made to anything within the waking world, but more of a feeling that sinks into your bones through the harmonies. “Kiss Me Now” speaks to that part of you that still holds onto the hope of finding love. The kind that makes you all warm and fuzzy inside, even when you’re stuck outside in the rain.
Along with the single, Pierce The Veil also posted a video to their YouTube channel. It could be considered a visualizer, or a very simple music video, but either way, it tells a story. Two people in love, willing to sit through all the worst that life has to throw at them just for the chance to be together until the very end.
Who can resist a good love story?
With the song having just been released at midnight (EST), fans have already flocked to their respective corners of the internet to echo the same sentiment: “This is our reward for holding on ‘til May.” I’d say it’s a pretty stellar reward, and one that each and every one of us deserves.
If you haven’t gotten your hands on them already, you can get tickets to the upcoming tour through the band’s official website. I would highly recommend finding your way to one of their 31 North American tour dates (they’re touring with Sleeping With Sirens for the first time in a decade, there is not a single chance that these shows are anything less than spectacular).
