Last month, President took over the metal world with the release of their song "In the Name of the Father". After appearing on Download Music Festival's lineup out of the blue in February, everyone on social media wanted to know who this mysterious band was. After three months, fans finally had an answer. There were mixed reviews on social media to the song, but the majority of them were positive. Now, three weeks later, President has dropped their second single, "Fearless".

The song starts off slow, but quickly kicks in with electric guitars. It gets softer again as the vocals kick in. There is a heavy amount of vocal effects, but it seems to lean more into the anonymity behind the singer. It takes you out of the song a little bit, but then once you reflect and realize this is a band based on anonymity, perhaps there is some merit to the effects.

The chorus kicks off with a chant of the song title, "Fearless", twice. The chorus itself leans into the catchy elements that hooked many fans in their first single. The play on words in the first part, using "feel less" to rhyme with "fearless" was also a really nice touch.

Once you hit the bridge, things start getting heavier, with the singer screaming "I can't lie to myself". The music gets heavier, and then it tapers off back to the softer chorus.

At the end of the music video, there is a man who takes off the mask that the lead singer wears. It feels like this is all a rouse to get a reaction out of people. President has already monopolized on the anonymous factor, it feels like they want to keep it this way.

This song was a softer, more melodic song than the first, but it still brings a lot of promise to the band as a whole. There seems to be an ever-growing fanbase, even with just two singles. Already the band has over 700 thousand monthly listeners. With more songs hopefully on the horizon, that number is sure to grow.

Download Festival is set to take place in a couple weekends, on June 13 through June 15. With only two songs in their discography available to the public, it will be interesting to see what President does with their set. If you are based in the U.K. and heading to Download Fest, this is one act you don't want to miss.
