Set It Off celebrates their new album with the Self-Titled Tour! It's not just an album, but a rebirth of the band, and a declaration of who they are, and fans are loving it! Joining them on tour are Autumn Kings, Vana, and Fame On Fire. The Dallas show flowed seamlessly from opener to the finale song, with high energy, lots of singing, and hands stretched toward the barricade.

Autumn Kings began the night for us with a vibrant set that got people moving. Every song was a banger, and the attendees quickly became part of the show, dancing and singing along, like each song was their personal anthem. "Sleep When I'm Dead" was a high energy jam that really got people moving and woke us all up. Every person in the room joined in, with a fist up in the air, pumping it to the beat. "Power" brought the heat, and had everyone waving a hand over head in unison to the empowering tune. "Terrified" carried through the venue while attendees head banged, their heads bobbing up and down in unison. "Snake Charmer" was the perfect moment to two step, but the crowd was a bit more relaxed during this mid-set banger. The lights were blasting to the quick beat of their music. Right around here they threw us a curve ball with a fun Lincoln Park cover. "Hellhound" was a powerhouse that closed out their set. I can't recall a band closing out with such a powerful punch before! I LOVED IT.

Then came the queen of dark pop herself. Vana strut onto the stage following after her masked men on guitar, drums, and bass. Vana had such an intriguing stage presence, and somehow conveyed both sweetness and darkness simultaneously. She's got the cute, innocent stage voice, vibrant red hair, stacked high combat boots, and a wide contagious smile. The stage setting was extremely dark with flashing white strobes and red lights switching in and out providing mystery and suspense while we tried to spot the band members on stage. Towards the middle of her set, she had everyones full attention as a special friend came out to join her on stage. What a vibrant and thematic set! The masks felt elusive and mysterious, while the boa constrictors and Vana's stage persona felt very untouchable. Lucky for us in the audience, we did indeed get to touch the sweet boa constrictors after her set, which made my day.

Fame On Fire sparked some intensity with their metalcore/alternative/pop hits. Songs like "Welcome To The Chaos" encouraged everyone to shout the chorus alongside the band, but also had some more edgy and aggressive vocals sprinkled in to make it just the right amount of post-hardcore. Singer Bryan Kuznitz engaged the crowd and kept everyone moving with the beat. Drummer Alex Roman always adds to the high-energy with his sharp drumming and high intensity. The double-kick drums and breakdowns, hip-hop rhythms, and hard-hitting snares add the right amount of heavy to their anthem-like songs. Whether you've heard Fame On Fire before or not doesn't matter — they'll reel you in with their catchy combination of pop hooks and guitar riffs.

PS: We miss you Blake Saul! May you rock on with new endeavors.

Explosive would be the best word to describe Set It Off; Cody Carson, Maxx Danziger and Zach DeWall's live performance for The Self-Titled Tour. The crowd screamed as loudly as their voices would carry while the band took the stage. Cody had such an energetic and happy stage presence–you can absolutely tell he loves what he does. Zach DeWall, and the other touring guitarist drove the set with tight riffs, and rich melodies. Combined with Maxx's electric drumming and Cody's theatrical singing, it all pieced together so seamlessly. Cody has such an expressive voice with different emotions portrayed, you feel the vulnerability, the defiance, anger, urgency and also playfulness in his voice. Songs like, "Why Worry," "Killer In The Mirror," "Wolf In Sheep's Clothing," "Punching Bag," "Pathological," "Rotten," "Worst Case Scenarios," and "Parasite" delivered an explosive range of entertainment and a feeling of camaraderie as the crowd jumped up and down, head banged, and sang loudly with every beat and chorus. If you haven't experienced Set It Off live, THIS new album and tour is honestly the best time to do it. They are so bold and unapologetically them. You truly can't help but join them!

In the end, The Self-Titled Tour, is so much more than a concert, it's a powerful declaration of exactly who Set It Off is. They are in a new era of bold confidence and it radiates on stage as they sing and play their heart out. You will walk out of your local venue with a feeling of something fresh beginning rather than a concert ending.
