Showing Teeth is a brutal metal artist from Tennessee who is taking the metal scene by storm with no apologies. Her sound is heavy on gutturals and riffs that transition into cleans that are sing-song-like and angelic, creating a duality that is taking Showing Teeth all the way to the top. The sound, mixed with a Southern gothic aesthetic, pulls the whole brand together.
On the 4th of September, Showing Teeth released her new album "A Fate Worse Than Loneliness," and I have been absolutely loving it! It's made it onto my top album releases of the year, actually!

Showing Teeth really came in swinging with this album, with tracks like "Labyrinth," "Rip," and "Bad Exchanges." Some of my personal favorites off the LP are "Bad Exchanges," "Make It Out," and "Shallow Grave" because their lyrics are deep in nature, and I love the overall composition of these songs. Some of the guttural parts in "Bad Exchanges" and "Labyrinth" scratch an itch in your brain that can't be scratched any other way.
This album has a really nice flow from song to song. The album doesn't leave you hanging, but it does leave you wanting more from Showing Teeth, in the sense that you want to hear and see what she puts out next. It's the perfect amount of brutal and heavy, with the clean and sweet-as-honey-sounding moments in it.

I would love to see "Paradigm" land some sync placements for movies, shows, or even games. This song is a banger and so sweet at the same time. It's accessible as a song with fewer harsh elements, so it can be clipped to exclude those for certain media or left in, depending on the media's feel and the music director's and editor's tastes.
I have a feeling we're gonna see Showing Teeth thrown into the forefront of the alt and metal scene. She's a powerhouse vocalist and writer, which will take her a long way. I can't wait to hear what she releases next and what collabs may come in the future for songs and show lineups.
