When you think of the Dallas-Fort Worth area, you should know that there is no shortage of great musical talent in our area. Bands and artists of all musical backgrounds are prevalent in the area and are making it their goal to highlight their talent. One that you should be aware of is The Dark Divide. I've been lucky enough to have seen the band several times over the course of the past few years and their recent release, "White Noise" which features DFW's With Hope Intact's Alexis Buell-Banfield, is truly the best release from the band.

The Dark Divide somehow effortlessly blends components of concepts of old-school metalcore and new age ideas. "White Noise" is a breath of fresh air I didn't know I needed while also making me reminisce about the bands that got me into the genre. With haunting spoken word moments that dance dangerously across three vocal styles on the track, all while being packaged alongside some disgustingly heavy riffs and drumming, "White Noise" really packs a punch that makes it impossible to ignore. The facts are in the numbers, as the views on the music video have increased by about 7,000 in just 24 hours (you know... they might just be from me). I've been watching it a lot).

After spending what seemed like hours trying to place why I've been loving the sound from this song so much, it finally hit me. While the sound of The Dark Divide is all their own and impossible to imitate, "White Noise" sounds like a Killswitch Engage song that somehow turned heavier. The energy the song radiates is exactly what you need to scratch that metalcore itch you didn't even know you had. Give the song a listen and determine for yourself. I have a sneaking suspicion you won't be disappointed.
