Swarming through the music world is the sound of evolution. It's screaming, it's seething, it's alive, and it's curated by nรผ-metalcore rockstars, ๐“๐ž๐ญ๐ซ๐š๐ซ๐œ๐ก. Releasing their third album, "๐‘‡โ„Ž๐‘’ ๐‘ˆ๐‘”๐‘™๐‘ฆ ๐‘†๐‘–๐‘‘๐‘’ ๐‘œ๐‘“ ๐‘€๐‘’," their second with ๐๐š๐ฉ๐š๐ฅ๐ฆ ๐‘๐ž๐œ๐จ๐ซ๐๐ฌ, Tetrarch offers a 10-track masterpiece that breathes onto the skin and leaves marks, stamped in self-preservation and self-reflection in the face of our darker mirror antonymy and lacerations. For long-time fans like myself waiting for a sequel to 2021's "๐‘ˆ๐‘›๐‘ ๐‘ก๐‘Ž๐‘๐‘™๐‘’," the four-year wait is over, and it was very much worth the wait. This is one of the most creative albums 2025 has thrown out to us thus far, in my opinion, and it showcases that nรผ-metal is not dead; it is reborn. This group, formed in 2007 out of Atlanta, Georgia, honor the foundations of the genre but don't limit themselves to it. Tetrarch invites you to truly see the ugly side of ourselves.

Joined in co-production with ๐ƒ๐š๐ฏ๐ž ๐Ž๐ญ๐ž๐ซ๐จ (producer for numerous other metal acts such as ๐’๐ก๐š๐๐จ๐ฐ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ˆ๐ง๐ญ๐ž๐ง๐ญ, ๐…๐š๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ฃ๐š๐ก, ๐š๐ง๐ ๐‚๐š๐ญ๐ญ๐ฅ๐ž ๐ƒ๐ž๐œ๐š๐ฉ๐ข๐ญ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง), this thing is a mutation with absolutely insane guitar and bass work, viscous guitar solos, demanding punching drums, and merciless vocal delivery and giant choruses fit for main stages. From the jump, the album opens up with "๐ด๐‘›๐‘ฆ๐‘กโ„Ž๐‘–๐‘›๐‘” ๐ฟ๐‘–๐‘˜๐‘’ ๐‘€๐‘ฆ๐‘ ๐‘’๐‘™๐‘“," an onslaught showcasing what you're in forโ€”bouncing riffs, a call to the moshpit, the onslaught drums of ๐‘๐ฎ๐›๐ž๐ง ๐‹๐ข๐ฆ๐š๐ฌ, and powerful choruses from founding vocalist and rhythm guitarist ๐‰๐จ๐ฌ๐ก ๐…๐จ๐ซ๐ž worthy of main stages.

The first thing you may notice if you're new to the Tetrarch sound is lead guitarist and one of the founding members, ๐ƒ๐ข๐š๐ฆ๐จ๐ง๐ ๐‘๐จ๐ฐ๐ž, crowned recently as ๐‰๐š๐œ๐ค๐ฌ๐จ๐ง ๐†๐ฎ๐ข๐ญ๐š๐ซ's first female signature guitarist. She delivers haunting leads, echoing from the old world of ๐Œ๐ฎ๐ง๐ค๐ฒ and ๐‡๐ž๐š๐ of ๐Š๐จ๐‘๐ง, along with a cross of metalcore and nรผ-metal riff collisions. As my favorite band is also Korn (with ๐ผ๐‘ ๐‘ ๐‘ข๐‘’๐‘ ' album art tattooed on me, and also being a guitarist from Atlanta, Georgia), Diamond inspires musicians such as myself that creating art is limitless, timeless and that she's an original innovator of her instrument who's earned her place.

The star of this album for me was their second single released for this album, "๐‘๐‘’๐‘ฃ๐‘’๐‘Ÿ ๐ด๐‘”๐‘Ž๐‘–๐‘› (๐‘ƒ๐‘Ž๐‘Ÿ๐‘Ž๐‘ ๐‘–๐‘ก๐‘’)." For the first time showcasing Diamond on vocal duties, along with a hypnotizing music video, this track and its lyrics demanded such a response from my mind and body that during the breakdown of the song I felt everything at onceโ€”what this album was meant forโ€”to save. I usually go for mosh-pit-worthy music, but this track has made me see a side of myself that I locked away. It's a beautiful piece.

"๐‘๐‘’๐‘ฃ๐‘’๐‘Ÿ ๐ด๐‘”๐‘Ž๐‘–๐‘› (๐‘ƒ๐‘Ž๐‘Ÿ๐‘Ž๐‘ ๐‘–๐‘ก๐‘’)" Official Music Video

"๐ฟ๐‘–๐‘ฃ๐‘’ ๐‘›๐‘œ๐‘ก ๐น๐‘Ž๐‘›๐‘ก๐‘Ž๐‘ ๐‘–๐‘ง๐‘’" brings you out of the waters from the previous track and throws you into an industrial-esque anthem, ripping an insane guitar solo that we all need tabs for; this one is a killer listen.

"๐ฟ๐‘–๐‘ฃ๐‘’ ๐‘›๐‘œ๐‘ก ๐น๐‘Ž๐‘›๐‘ก๐‘Ž๐‘ ๐‘–๐‘ง๐‘’" Official Music Video

Along with "๐ต๐‘’๐‘ ๐‘ก ๐‘œ๐‘“ ๐ฟ๐‘ข๐‘๐‘˜," furthering variety with bassist ๐‘๐ฒ๐š๐ง โ€œ๐ƒ๐จ๐จ๐ฆ๐ฌโ€ ๐‹๐ž๐ซ๐ง๐ž๐ซ and drummer ๐‘๐ฎ๐›๐ž๐ง ๐‹๐ข๐ฆ๐š๐ฌ dangling an almost hip-hop-inspired track at us, groovy as hell. Diamond taps more into her shredding with "๐ธ๐‘Ÿ๐‘Ž๐‘ ๐‘’" and "๐ถ๐‘œ๐‘™๐‘‘"; a lot of guitarists are going to use the DigiTech Whammy Pedal after these. "๐ถ๐‘Ÿ๐‘Ž๐‘ค๐‘™" and "๐ป๐‘’๐‘Ž๐‘‘๐‘ ๐‘๐‘Ž๐‘๐‘’" let fans know that the sound Tetrach has found itself becoming is refined and better with every release. A lot of this is heavy, rocking your face one after the other, and ๐‰๐จ๐ฌ๐ก's mix of clean, dream-like choruses to quick, almost rap-like verses and harsh breakdowns are signature and instantly recognizable. "๐‘‚๐‘›๐‘™๐‘ฆ ๐‘‡โ„Ž๐‘–๐‘›๐‘” ๐ผ'๐‘ฃ๐‘’ ๐บ๐‘œ๐‘ก" showing a ๐‹๐ข๐ง๐ค๐ข๐ง ๐๐š๐ซ๐ค-inspired ode about withstanding the pain and not breaking before the winds. Wrapping up with the self-titled track, "๐‘‡โ„Ž๐‘’ ๐‘ˆ๐‘”๐‘™๐‘ฆ ๐‘†๐‘–๐‘‘๐‘’ ๐‘œ๐‘“ ๐‘€๐‘’," the band reminds you what this album was aboutโ€”confronting the ugly: the parts of you that are infected with guilt, mistakes, and missing parts.

Just like Tetrarch has shown with this album, you too can evolve, grow, and become something more.
