Let us be honest: it seems every other day someone is saying how you should be on the look out for the next big thing in metalcore or how "THIS" band is going to change the the music scene. So, when I heard people raving about Archers and their single "Never Enough", I had to see for myself what the hype was about. Well, I see what that hype is about because the song slaps and has become the only thing I've been listening to.

With groovy riffs, chunky chugs, and a wonderful balance of singing and screaming, as well as a balance of upbeat vibes with head-banging heaviness, the song showcases the massive talent of the band. Each listen reveals a new part of the song that makes me love it more then before. All this being said, let us not ignore the immense gut punch the lyrics take on the listener. "Out of sight out of mind / On my temporary high / Hate myself in the morning / But tonight I'm fine / And we do it again / It never fucking ends" are the type of lyrics that will leave you in a puddle of your tears, yet when accompanied by the instrumentals on the song, you find yourself filled with a sense of relief as you know someone out there feels the same as you. When speaking about the new release, the band states
“'Never Enough' is a story too many of us are familiar with - the chemistry between two people who aren’t good for each other. These relationships are addictive by nature, and oftentimes toxic, resulting in conflict both internal and external. ‘Never Enough’ addresses the uncomfortable side of this kind of relationship, acknowledging the 'temporary high' of lapsing into toxicity. Because although there’s conflict and you might know it’s unhealthy, breaking the bonds for good is a lot harder than dealing with the familiarities with the thing you’ve come to know.”
If this release is any indication as to the future of Archers, it is looking very bright. The band has already amassed close 400 thousand monthly listeners on Spotify alone with several tracks with over a million streams. To anyone that hears that Archers is becoming the next rising star in metalcore, you can bet your ass that that statement is correct.
