Knock knock. Who's there? The Home Team with a brand new single for your listening pleasure! The band has been making waves ever since their first full album, Better Off, released back in 2018. I've known about The Home Team for quite some time due to bassist Ryne Olson's time in For The Likes Of You and his deathcore years, but I wouldn't say I've been a "Day 1" fan of the band. Granted, with songs like "She's Quiet", "Move It or Lose It", and "Right Through Me", it is no wonder why the band has been skyrocketing to the mainstream. Plus 2024's The Crucible Of Life is just full of songs that effortlessly capture millions of streams across the platforms. I guess the band knew fans were expecting new music soon, so The Home Team is gearing up to release The Crucible Of Life Deluxe on June 13th, and are giving fans a quick taste with the release of "Worthy".

What are you expecting me to say about the song? Do you really think it isn't good? C'mon now. We're talking about The Home - motherfucking- Team over here. The track effortlessly balances metalcore bass lines with crisp snares and catchy jazz-like riffs and lyrics sang in a way that makes you feel like you're experiencing music for the first time. The song slaps. Plain and simple. It ushers in a wave of freshness while maintaining that standard the band has been putting on their releases lately. Vocalist Brian Butcher states:

'Worthy’ is a song that was written during the same time as the rest of The Crucible of Life, but just didn’t get finished until after the album was released. This song belongs in the Crucible of Life cycle, but it also indicates a look forward for us in terms of what comes next creatively. We will always try and push boundaries with our music and we hope that is obvious among our listeners and fans.

Speaking of pushing boundaries, if the accompanying music video for the song is any indication of the future of the band, fans are in store for some of the most incredible releases to ever come out of the Pacific Northwest. You know, I'm doing writing now because I need to go back and give the song another listen. You should go and do the same!
