Damn. 2025 is quickly becoming the best year for metalcore. There are have been so many releases this year that have been a contender for either Album of the Year or Single of the Year. I don't know how this year could get any better. Well, I do know one way it could and I think When Forever Finds Me read my mind on what I was thinking. The band is gearing up to release their brand new single, "I Wish We Could Have Gone To The Moon Together", on June 6th and it is sure to take the metalcore scene by storm.

While the band has roots in the metalcore genre, this new song from them is anything but "just another metalcore song". Rather than just a song to vibe to and head bang to, the band has taken the conceptual route and turned this newest release into a story for listeners. The progression the story takes accompanied by emotional instruments leaves fans yearning and craving more from the band. With a cinematic and ambient sound to it, the track tells a story similar to the anime Cyberpunk, Edgerunners. Vocalist Nick Tate states:
“The song is about a guy that's realizing he's too far gone due to addiction. In the song he's telling the girl to carry on without him because he's not worth it.”
"I Wish We Could Have Gone To The Moon Together" is the type of track that is made for a live performance. As I listen to it over and over again, I keep noticing moments, that when played live, will have the crowd off their feet as they sing the lyrics back louder than the band. The future of metalcore is looking bright thanks to bands like When Forever Finds Me and I know I will be one of the first in line when they make their visit to Dallas, TX.
