From Milan, Italy, Fourth Heaven is a goth rock band. This four-piece, female-fronted band is bringing back that great nostalgic goth sound and adding in darkwave, alternative metal, and industrial elements to create a sound that is both haunting and beautiful. Their visuals carry a cult-like aesthetic and feel to them, making you ask, What is Fourth Heaven?
Upon listening to their EP "Eclipse," I have found a new goth rock band to fall head over heels for!
The EP begins with the song "PRIESTESS," a solid start! With instrumentals that keep the background busy but not too full as the singer's vocals layer over the top. It borders on the Goth Rock side of the genre! The next song gives us a different vocal range at times, so being able to see the changes from song to song is really cool. The vocalist's ability to be malleable with the song's intent is a really nice little treat to find in music, especially in this genre!

"Crown Of Shame" feels like a fresher take with a more alternative flair to its sound than in the first song, "Priestess," which is more on the rock side of the sliding goth scale. Whereas the song "The Spell" has a more industrial feel to it. I love that they easily sway between and manipulate subgenres to make the sound of the song what they want it to be. With each song, it's like peeling back a layer on the capabilities of the band, only to learn they are infinite in their sound.
They also tend to mix in parts that feel almost EDM-like in the background, and as someone who loves harder genres or sounds mixed with EDM and dubstep, it's like a hidden treat! This band is really giving us it all in each song!

Even though they can swing subgenres at the drop of a hat, one thing remains consistent in the sound and aesthetic of Fourth Heaven, and that is the cult vibes. Even in just the music, there are subtle cult-like elements in the sound and in the lyrics. It's not just the branding for their visuals. They used it to pull everything together into a nice, neat bow!
Fourth Heaven has set themselves up for a win with "Eclipse." This album feels full, but not too full. They give us a little bit of everything without leaving us feeling like we were left unsatisfied. It's just right and leaves you wanting to hear what they make next!
