Today, music legends A Day To Remember released the music video for the rock song of the summer, “All My Friends.” The fun, carefree party anthem was originally released in February as part of Big Ole Album Vol. 1, which was dropped with no prior announcements on vinyl and CD initially and then on streaming services the next month.
The song’s lyrics follow the band on a guy’s night out, full of laughter, drinks, and references to “The Boys Are Back In Town” by Thin Lizzy and Cody Quistad of Wage War, a frequent collaborator of A Day To Remember. The music video represents the energy of the song perfectly, starting with a shot of lead vocalist Jeremy McKinnon walking up to the door of a bar named The Hitching Post and showing the title card for the video. Inside, the rest of the band (Neil Westfall, Alex Shelnutt, and Kevin Skaff) is already waiting for McKinnon as games of beer pong and pool are played around them. Skaff then walks over to the jukebox to put on “The Boys Are Back In Town,” but if you pause at just the right second before the song changes, you’ll see a glimpse of the back album cover of Katy Perry’s album, Teenage Dream, as well as the cover for Big Ole Album Vol. 1.
As the video continues, the band gets up on stage to perform the song, and Quistad makes an appearance for the lines, “Now Cody’s behind me // He’s screamin’ // Tonight is for the boys // Tonight is for the boys.” Then, in the biggest surprise of the video, WWE superstar and known metalhead Seth Rollins shows up in classic Rollins attire, drinking a beer with Skaff (before a man steals Skaff’s beer and starts to pick a fight, until Rollins puts him in his place). A little later, the party starts to wind down, at which point Rollins leaves and comes back with a flamethrower, waking everyone right back up. This pays homage to Rollins’ persona in the ring, as his tagline is “Burn It Down.” The party moves outside, where you can see the bar on fire behind the band as they perform, and Rollins shoots the flamethrower.
Fans loved the cameo from Rollins and flooded the comments with their approval. Now, while Rollins heads back to Monday Night RAW and continues to revel in his Money in the Bank victory from last month, A Day To Remember is gearing up for the “Maximum Fun Tour” with Yellowcard and support from State Champs, The Wonder Years, Boundaries, and Dinosaur Pile-Up, plus sets at Vans Warped Tour in Long Beach, CA, and Orlando, FL.
