COBRAH brought the Torn Tour to Showbox SoDo in Seattle on March 30, which is the first non-festival date of the tour. COBRAH is a Swedish singer-songwriter who makes dance/electronic music. She often implements queer and BDSM elements in her music, visuals, and outfits. Her new album “Torn,” released on March 6, is the supporting album for the Torn Tour.

Outfits
While there were, of course, people dressed in more everyday clothes, many people dressed for the occasion. The outfits fans put together for this show were incredible. Most of the outfits included at least one of the following elements: leather, lingerie, fishnets, and harnesses; there were even a couple costume masks thrown into the mix. It's as if everyone collectively said, "We're going to dress like we are going to a BDSM club,” and I was absolutely in love with that collective thought process, specifically since it matches COBRAH's aesthetic!

Showtime
Around two and a half hours after doors, the lights go down, and all anyone can hear is the deafening sound of the screaming crowd. The moment everyone was waiting for is finally happening. In front of a white background, we see two female dancers, and a few moments later, we see COBRAH. COBRAH and the dancers are all wearing skin-tone lingerie with matching high heels; COBRAH is also wearing a metal o-ring collar in a shining silver color. A few songs deep in the setlist, the room goes dark, and when the stage lights are back on, the crowd is shocked to see that the center of the white background has been pulled out into a box. In the box, all we see is COBRAH's shadow as the next song begins. About half way through the track, she steps out of the box, making herself visible to the audience.

Shortly after the background was pulled out into a box, the box was then flipped over so COBRAH and the dancers could perform inside the box. Little did everyone know that what would happen in the flipped box was going to make everyone, especially the queer people in the crowd, screech with excitement. What made everyone absolutely lose their minds was one of the dancers stepping on COBRAH's chest. COBRAH then performed an Ashnikko song that she is featured on, “Wet Like,” during which the dancers took a black thong off of COBRAH, and she threw the thong into the audience. She concluded the night with her hit “Good Puss,” which had everyone dancing and loudly singing along, and for about an hour, she turned a Seattle concert venue into a club dancefloor.
I have never seen a crowd lose their minds and hysterically scream throughout the entire show quite like I saw for COBRAH. From her confident stage presence to a beautiful display of queer, specifically lesbian, eroticism, I guarantee you don't want to miss COBRAH on the Torn Tour. US dates for the Torn Tour last until May 8, and the UK and European dates are from May 27 to June 3.
