Self-described “cyber/industrial metal boy band” LEVELS are back with the release of their sophomore album, “This Will Make You Feel Again.” With a goal of evoking a visceral response from listeners, the four-piece packs a punch into each track, whether through raging vocals and thrashing instrumentals or with softer, more vulnerable emotional depth. And by flawlessly blending elements from genres all across the board, LEVELS ensures that “This Will Make You Feel Again” has a little bit of something for everybody.
Hailing from Arkansas and consisting of Kolby Carignan on vocals, Jager Felice on guitar, Jacob Hubbard on bass, and Dalton Kennerly on drums, LEVELS first came together back in 2016. Since their formation, the band have defied genre boundaries, refusing to limit themselves and their art to a single definition. From the 2018 release of their self-titled debut album to the 2024 EP “PULSE,” LEVELS has allowed their music to evolve naturally over the years, drawing inspiration from all over the industry and never shying away from experimental elements. And their latest album, “This Will Make You Feel Again,” is no different.

LEVELS kicks things off on “This Will Make You Feel Again” with synth-rich, bass-heavy opening track “Blue Heaven,” followed by raging banger "Godlike" and the climactic “Death Dance.” On “Blue Heaven,” most of the song is filled with ethereal synthesizers, melodic vocals, and an ever-present thumping bass. However, meticulously placed breakdowns fueled by ferocious drums and roaring guitars, paired with intermittent yet intense guttural vocals, keep the track grounded in metal roots and make it the perfect opener for an album that refuses to be musically defined. Fiery and thunderous, “Godlike” kicks the LP’s energy into overdrive, while “Death Dance” beautifully switches between hypnotic melodies and ferocious breakdowns.
Next up on the album are the airy yet ferocious “Black Dove,” released as a single in December 2025, and then “Fume,” a beautifully haunting track. Infusing a classic metalcore sound with electronic elements and pop infectiousness, "Black Dove" is a certifiable banger that is sure to leave listeners obsessing. Released earlier this year in February alongside "Death Dance" as a single, "Fume" touches on fighting with and against your inner turmoil. Beginning soft but eventually crescendoing into a hardcore breakdown, "Fume" is emotional, vulnerable, and absolutely spine-chilling in the best possible way.

From there, "This Will Make You Feel Again" moves into the soft, electrifying "Fragile," followed by "Feel" and the anthemic "Covert One." With "Fragile," distorting synths, striking keys, and melodious vocals combine to give the track both an electronic pop vibe and palpable emotional energy. The shortest song on the tracklist, with a playtime of just under a minute and a half, "Feel," begins by continuing from the end of "Fragile" before beautifully transitioning to a quicker, more energetic beat around the 15-second mark. Meanwhile, "Covert One" is an authentic rock anthem with a chorus infused with pop catchiness, sure to leave fans screaming along at shows.
LEVELS finishes the album off with the ominous and angry "Strange Things" and then finally, the closing track "The Grave." Distorted synths and a chant-like chorus give "Strange Things" an eerie feel, while heavy, blaring instruments and guttural screams make the tune a metalhead's dream. Effortlessly switching between impassioned screams and beautiful harmonies, "The Grave" is overflowing with emotion and packed to the brim with high energy. And a flawless blend of various electronic, hard rock, and pop music elements makes it the perfect finale for "This Will Make You Feel Again," an album that consistently defies genre boundaries and absolutely delivers on the title's promise.
