Lukas Magyar has separated from Veil Of Maya. What started as a temporary hiatus back in September of 2024 led to having left the band, and Magyar has now released an official statement:

Magyar states:

Yes, it is true that I have left Veil of Maya. First thing’s first, what an incredible decade-long journey it has been. I am forever grateful for the opportunity and experience. In many ways, the last ten years have reshaped my life. There were several factors that led to me ultimately stepping away from VoM, and I had to make a decision that would allow me to move forward, both personally and creatively.
Over the last year, I’ve been focused on SIFYN, releasing music, and rediscovering that spark in the studio. It’s been a real turning point for me, allowing me to reconnect with what drives me creatively and to approach music with a fresh perspective. Working on SIFYN has truly brought back a sense of excitement that I’d been missing.
I’m also thrilled to be a part of a new collaboration with Joey Sturgis that's coming soon. It's been an honor to work alongside industry veterans who helped shape so many influential artists within the metal and rock world.  There’s a lot more on the way for 2026 that I’m excited to share with all of you.
I have nothing but love and respect for everyone who I’ve met and worked with along the way. I want to say thank you to the fans for their continued support and to Veil of Maya and Sumerian Records for everything over the years.

Veil of Maya, formed in 2004 in Chicago, has changed over the years from starting with melodic death metal roots and grown to blend technical death metal with progressive metalcore, djent, and electronic elements. “Matriarch(2015) and “False Idol“ (2017) showcase a shift towards more groove, melody, and polished production while retaining technicality.

They have had a huge impact by helping and defining the djent and progressive metalcore genres while being praised for their technical riffs by Marc Okubo, which influenced other metal guitarists. With this being said, there is no denying the impact the band has had in the metalcore scene.

We cannot wait to hear more from SIFYN!
