Hailing from New Jersey the titans known as Ocean of Illusions have been pushing the boundaries of modern extreme music. Making noise up and down the east coast with tenacity and creativity this band that will continue to push the line.
Truer words could not have been said by the band themselves about their sound, their mission, and what fans can expect from them. Ocean of Illusions are here and ready to make their claim in the land of heavy music. I've just discovered the band and I have a feeling they are going to be on my daily rotation for the foreseeable future. Their most recent release, "Nexus", has everything a deathcore fan would want from a song and more.
This is an all around heavy track in terms of lyrical content, tone, sense of impending loneliness. With lyrics like "I’ve scoured the earth looking for you my love / I know you're out there / The time I’ve searched / It’s been forever / Forever", it is a feeling that almost every person in the world can relate to. Vocalist Zach Howard states:

As the story unfolds, the listener is accompanied by a symphony of riffs, breakdowns, and blast beats that shower them in a blanket of comfort. Each and every moment spirals into something that just scratches that deathcore itch. It feels somewhat nostalgic yet fresh and new.
Listening to the song over and over again has me feeling like I'm rewatching a favorite movie and discovering a new favorite scene. Each listen of "Nexus" has me noticing something new from a new lyric that stands out to an instrumental that won't loosen its grasp on me.
