Rolling Quartz is a force to be reckoned with, and there’s nothing simple about this band—I found that out the second they took the stage in Dallas, Texas, on May 8th. Combining raw energy with serious talent, this five-member rock group delivered a performance that had people outside buying tickets to get in.

They don’t just play music—they ignite it.

Formed in 2019, the band is made up of Arem (bass), Hyunjung and Iree (guitars), Jayoung (vocals), and Yeongeun (drums). Each member brings not just crazy skill, but a unique vibe that makes the stage feel alive. The chemistry between them is impossible to fake, and it’s pretty jaw-dropping to see it all come together in person.

I’d be lying if I said I’d been a fan since their debut, but after seeing them live, I really wish I had been. Their music is right up my alley: energetic and full of personality. It’s the kind of sound that grabs your attention and doesn’t let go, and hearing it live just took it to another level.

When the lights dimmed, the crowd went quiet right away. Everyone knew what was coming, and the anticipation was real. But the second the members started walking out one by one, the cheers erupted and completely filled the venue. It was like a switch flipped as everyone went from holding their breath to screaming at the top of their lungs.

What made the night even more special was how much they clearly enjoyed being there. Their interactions with the crowd were so genuine and fun to watch. Whether it was cracking a quick joke, giving a wave, or just taking a moment to say thank you, it all felt really sincere.

They kicked things off with a cover of “Kickstart My Heart” by Mötley Crüe, and it was a perfect choice. As soon as it started, the crowd went wild in recognition of the familiar guitar strums. You could feel the energy shift instantly, and it was clear the band was feeding off it, too. It was loud, fast, and set the tone for the rest of the night.

After that, they jumped into Higher and Blaze, and both kept the momentum going strong. They didn’t slow down at all. Blaze in particular, really stood out to me because of the instrumental. It just filled the room with energy while being played live, and the crowd was completely into it. At that point, it was clear we were in for a killer show.

The band also threw in a few more covers that night, and they honed the essence of them. They covered “Pink Venom” by BLACKPINK and “Bad Romance” by Lady Gaga, and both were huge crowd-pleasers. It was cool seeing them take these pop songs and make them their own with that rock edge.

By the end of the night, it felt less like a concert and more like something shared personally between the band and everyone in the room. Rolling Quartz poured so much of themselves into the performance, and you could feel that connection in every song, every smile, every moment they took to look out at the crowd.

I walked in curious, but I left genuinely moved. Their energy, their passion, and the way they made everyone feel seen—it all stuck with me. It’s rare to see a band that not only sounds incredible live but also makes you feel like you were part of something special.

This show wasn’t just entertainment. It was a reminder of how powerful live music can be, and how quickly a band can carve out a place in your heart. I’ll be cheering for them from here on out, and I already can’t wait to see them again.
