Sweden has given the world a lot of great things — IKEA, Ghost, and even ABBA. A possibly lesser-known export also happens to be one of the hottest cinematic modern rock bands in the scene today — Smash Into Pieces.

Smash Into Pieces, formed in Sweden in 2008, are as much storytellers as they are musicians. They’re been building their own digital world since the release of their sixth album, "Arcadia," in 2020. The story takes place in a dystopian future and follows a central character named Ghostis. Their forthcoming album, "ARMAHEAVEN," continues this journey even further, to a future where Ghostis has seized control of the world, and the war that follows.

I had the opportunity to chat with guitarist Per Bergqvist recently to dive into the world of "ARMAHEAVEN" and their creative process.
