The Plot In You is an American metalcore band from Ohio that was formed by vocalist and guitarist Landon Tewers in 2010. The band's name was originally Vessels when they released their first EP, "Wife Beater," also in 2010. They rebranded to The Plot In You and signed to the label Rise Records later.

With multiple albums, EPs, and singles under their belt and Tewers' guest vocals on multiple songs with artists like Rory Rodriguez (vocalist of the band Dayseeker), Blackbear, and more, The Plot In You has found their footing in the metal and alternative music scene. Their single "Forgotten" became a song that many have found a connection with, catapulting the Ohio natives into the big leagues.

ALBUM COVER ART

On July 10th, The Plot In You released their self-titled album, including the singles "Forgotten," "Silence," "You Only Get One," and most recently, "Carved." The album stays true to The Plot In You's ability to go harsh and heavy or take a more acoustic and soft approach. They have an uncanny ability to create songs with production elements and sequences that leave you captivated in how their songs will build or what tempos will change; this is something I love about how Tewers creates his music, even in his solo work.

I can't even pick favorites from this band; I adore them. Some of the ones that I personally connect with on a deeper level are "Closure," "Forgotten" (along with everyone else), "All That I Can Give," and "Don't Look Away." But "Carved" has a very special place in my heart that words can't describe, and so does "Spare Me."

Their music videos are honestly some of my favorites, too. They are gritty and raw with scenes based in different cultures, lifestyles, and art types. The video for "Silence" includes ballet dancers that are covered in dust and dirt dancing in what seems to be an abandoned theatre room. "Spare Me" has scenes with a matador in an empty ring with a bull. "Closure" even stars Tewers himself in what is portrayed to be a toxic relationship.

The Plot In You has some of my favorite overall recent songs and visuals. Everything they do feels so raw and authentic with an artist's twist.

Overall, of course I loved this album, and I think it does have some of my favorite The Plot In You tracks that they have made yet. It's beautifully produced, has amazing visuals, has a balance to the flow of the album, and leaves you wanting more as much as it satisfies.

I don't think I will ever get tired of The Plot In You, but in case you needed your sign to listen to this band or their self-titled album, then here it is!
