There has never been a quiet revolt. Every generation has had its purpose to fight and a reason to join together against a greater evil to protest against. The greatest form of protest has always been music. From the folk revival of Phil Ochs to the Molotov cocktail of Rage Against the Machine, many artists played a message that echoed the chants coming from the streets. Turn the tape over and you will find the next voice featured on the revolution soundtrack, Cheap Perfume.

Formed in Colorado in 2015, razor-sharp powerhouse Cheap Perfume came out of the gate unapologetic and wearing their beliefs on their sleeves. During a time when voices were needed, the riot grrl energy they brought was nothing short of right-place, right-time. Dismantling oppression while having a good time keeps this band positive through a never-ending battle. That energy follows them into their newest album, Don't Care. Didn't Ask. A rallying cry about capitalist exploitation, class solidarity, and the need for direct action. Following their announcement of said album, I had the pleasure of sitting down and talking to 3 of the members. We had a chat about their activism, playing music festivals compared to small shows, and standing up against the hatred in the world in this MSM exclusive interview.

Be sure to check out Don't Care. Didn't Ask. when it drops on October 3rd. In the meantime, follow Cheap Perfume on their socials and listen to the released tracks off the album, "Down to Riot" and "Woke Mind Virus."
