Growing up in the 2000s was a time many of us tend to look back on fondly, though at times with a slight cringe. Besides the denim, flip phones, and iPods...we can all agree that one of the most impactful aspects of the time was the music.

Sometimes it's easy to forget that while we are growing up, so are our favorite performers. For many of us, this point doesn't really hit home until we see the cursed headlines announcing that our favorite band has gone on "hiatus", which usually tends to be a more hopeful word for "breakup". On a more positive note, it seems that recently, things have been looking brighter for those of us searching for that youthful nostalgia, as many of the artists from our teenage years are making their big musical comeback. It doesn't matter whether the reasoning is financial, pure passion, or just too much free time...we are excited to see the resurgence of the music we grew up listening to.

One of the most recent pop artists to announce their return to music is Hilary Duff. On September 9, 2025, Hilary announced that she signed with Atlantic Records and is returning to the music scene. She released her previous album, "Breathe In. Breathe Out." in 2015. There has never been a better time to bring on a Lizzie McGuire marathon to celebrate the new music!

It's no secret that Justin Bieber was the teen heartthrob of 2010. We had the merch, played his "My World" EP on repeat, and swore that purple was the best color in the rainbow. But several scandals later, and Justin seemed to take a step back from the spotlight to recollect himself. During his time away, Justin has started his own family, getting married and having a son of his own. On July 11, 2025, Justin surprised fans with the release of his seventh studio album, "Swag". His return went a step further, when he released his most recent album, "Swag 2", in a similar fashion on September 5.

Cody Simpson came to fame in 2010 with the release of his single, "iYiYi", featuring Flo Rida. After releasing music for several years, Cody announced that he wanted to change courses in order to pursue his dream of being a professional swimmer. Now, after closing his Olympic swimming career, Cody is making his return to music. He has been sharing his covers of popular songs all over social media.

When the Jonas Brothers started out in the mid-200os, their fame rose quickly with the backing of Disney. Despite the release of several albums, combined with multiple television appearances and a concert film, the brothers announced they were disbanding in 2013. In this off time, Kevin focused on his familial roles as a father and husband, while Nick and Joe worked on their respective solo careers.

Fortunately, the Jonas Brothers' hiatus didn't prove to be a permanent one, when they announced their comeback on February 28, 2019. Currently, the Jonas Brothers are celebrating their 20-year anniversary on their Jonas20: Greetings From Your Hometown Tour.

This tour has proven to not only be a celebration for the brothers, but also for those artists that we thought we may have lost to time. The tour kicked off strong when the Jonas Brothers surprised the audience with guest performances from Jesse McCartney, as well as Demi Lovato. Demi and the brothers even performed duets from Disney's Camp Rock. Over the course of this tour, the surprise guest list has grown to include artists from all genres, including: The Click Five, Dashboard Confessional, JoJo, Plain White T's, 5 Seconds of Summer, Sum 41, and more.

Overall, it appears true what they say, "What goes around, comes around", and the music industry seems to still be proving that. So, when nostalgia hits hard and you're missing that old band that you used to play on repeat as a teenager, there's a good chance you may get to hear them again if you wait long enough!
