Catch Your Breath is an emotional hard rock band from Austin, Texas. Their sound is melodic in nature, with lyrics that are emotionally invested. Their song "Dial Tone" catapulted them into the limelight with its release back in 2022 when it caught traction on TikTok. Since then, they have been touring with other big acts in the alt-rock and metal scene as well as playing festivals and charting on the Billboard Hot Hard Rock Songs list.
After their virality with "Dial Tone," they have released an album and multiple singles. Their latest single, "Rewind," came out back on July 10th and holds to the band's emotional basis and sound.
This single stays true to their sound and emotional writing style. It's raw, but tastefully done. Vocalist Josh Mowery's voice is once again a melodic powerhouse, and as always, he never fails to showcase emotional inflection.
The lyrics reflect on what it's like to stay with someone who isn't good to you or for you for too long, with emotionally reflective lines like: "If I could rewind all we've done / Forget your face / 'Cause you never loved me once / You took my soul and there's nothing left". There is a quiet, heavy storm that comes after you realize you gave your entire soul to someone who never truly cared. 'Rewind' is our anthem for the broken, the hollowed-out, and the moments we wish we could take back.
The visuals for this album are in the same vein as their other works so far but feel like an elaboration of their imagery without it getting old. The artwork and visualizer music videos are really nicely done. We don't have music videos for this EP yet, but if we did, I can only imagine how high the quality would be! The branding is cohesive across multiple singles and albums, so as soon as you see the single cover art for "Rewind," you know it belongs to Catch Your Breath.

They are going on a US Tour from October 16th through December 5th, 2026, and then a US/EU tour from January 13th till February 17th, 2027.
I love this band, and this single is no exception. They have a lot going for them and have a strong standing in the music scene already. They never fail to make music that hits me right in the chest and reminds me why I love Catch Your Breath. Hearing what they do put out next is always a treat!
