Dark Divine is out for revenge against narcissists and manipulators. The hard rock band from Orlando, FL, is continuing their momentous rise in the genre with “Burn The Witch,” their new song released on May 10th. It comes almost 8 months to the day that their debut album, Deadly Fun, was released.

In this new song, Dark Divine aims to confront an evil witch (meant to represent a toxic person) but ends up giving in to her villainy. The lyrics compare the witch’s spells to being gaslit and manipulated, leading the protagonist of the song to burn her in retaliation: “Supеrstitions believed in, your spell is deceiving / This time you will see that you never had control.”

While the song starts off seemingly quiet, the intensity only increases from there with powerful vocals and a memorable instrumental. From start to finish, “Burn The Witch” lives up to what you would expect from a metal song with the name, possibly even exceeding expectations. The lyrics are just as strong as the sound, which hold great meaning and show the mental toll that toxic relationships can have.

Fans were also treated to a captivating music video released the same day as the song, filmed just a couple of hours away from the band’s hometown in Sarasota, FL. The video features the band performing the song in between clips of the witch, who is responsible for causing all of the anger and frustration.
