When you think of Halloween, you may think of horror movies, pumpkin patches, Spirit Halloween, and spooky music. Perhaps one of the biggest spooky songs of them all is "Spooky Scary Skeletons," a timeless classic. On September 29th, Designer Disguise released a metal version of the classic via InVogue Records.

Designer Disguise is no stranger to covers of timeless hits. Recently, they covered "Get Low" and found fame and popularity on TikTok. They have also recently released covers of "Clarity," "Sexy And I Know It" and "Move Bitch." These all promote their album, Elswaer, a concept album that tells the story of a hero's journey.

The track itself is an absolute metal rager. It harkens back to an older metal era that reminds me of Black Sabbath. The riffs that drive the track are soaring, warm, and smooth. The vocals are deadly, giving death or deathcore vibes. Yet when the clean vocals come in toward the end of the cover, it reminds of classic metal and the grandeur associated with that era.

Designer Disguise's newest cover will make your Halloween playlist upon first listen. Without this track, you cannot have a metal playlist during the spooky season. They sought to reimagine a classic and then knocked it out of the park. "Spooky Scary Skeletons" is now stuck in my head, and I am sure it will be until November 1.
