Based in Los Angeles, California, the duo Sace6 blends experimental pop and alternative elements with the skill and technique of a music biochemist. With melodic vocals and instrumentals that carry a post-hardcore feel, this duo is a match made for each other. The production is intricate and clean with a dark vibe and gritty edge. Their sound and brand have carried them all the way to the UK, where they have toured and supported bands like Dayseeker and Wind Walkers. They also just dropped their debut album "Brutalist" under the Sumerian Records label.

Sace.'s vocals are smooth, emotional, and breathy, creating an almost intimate feel. While the duality of having a little bit of a heavier instrumental sound adds to the depth of the emotions portrayed in each song on this album. It's well done, and the production that Noah Thomas did is beautiful in itself! Both of the members are extremely talented in their respective parts of the music that they make.

This album is chaos, but in the best way possible! It's rich and full in sound. Sace brings in the velvety feel, only for Noah to come in with a nice level of grit. They meld together and complement the other parts without being too overwhelming to enjoy or overpowering the other. Sace's harsher vocals help to bring in some roughness to the vocal parts in some songs to help tie a bow on their sound. This is a great example of genres embracing each other, with the Sace's singing being more towards R&B often and Noah staying towards an alternative feel with the instrumentals. The production really ties both together; it doesn't feel like the focus was on one genre or another, but instead on making them fit together as their own genre feel. I am a big production nerd, as someone who did production myself for a while, and Noah did an outstanding job on this album.

There is a good mix of softer songs and heavier ones, so you aren't left wanting for more of one or the other. They have a good flow for the album, too; the songs all feel like they lead to one another up till the end.

Some of my personal favorite songs from the "Brutalist" album are "Uneven," "Dolorous," "Reverie," and "Fabulist." I didn't find one song that I didn't like or that just didn't hit for me, though. I could play this album multiple times (and I did) and not have to skip or interject other artists to break apart the songs to keep them fresh. I would call this album a hit personally!

They also have an amazing song collaboration on the album with Jxdn, another artist I love, on their song "Reverie" that I would highly recommend giving a spin if you haven't yet! The tinny sound added to the beginning really appeals to me as they use it to enhance the song. It separates the song on the album, which is really nice, as it's the collab song; its intro feels different, and I think that is a great tactic, honestly.

All in all, I fully believe Sace6 is built for success and that with "Brutalist" being their debut album, they have the ability to grow into a place with the top alternative bands and artists. I loved them already, but I really can't wait to hear what they do next and maybe catch a show for them next time they are around my area.

Speaking of catching them at a show, they have four days for Warped Tour beginning in June!
